Day 11 - Formatting
280 characters is not a lot of space. How do you even format it?
I like to write my tweets in a text editor. Then I through them into a tool to check grammar. Then I will adjust the vertical alignment.
What is vertical alignment? In short, it is inserting newlines to make your tweets more readable. Copywriters do this all the time.
They make paragraphs with a single paragraph.
Why?
Because it is easier to read.
But also to draw you in.
If you have more than a single sentence in a tweet, consider inserting newlines between the sentences.
But there is an ulterior motive.
More vertical spacing means your tweet is bigger.
It takes up more room.
There is more of a chance that a follower will see it.
Vertical spacing can be very useful.
Especially when you combine it with images and emojis.
Start noticing the vertical spacing of the Tweeters that you admire.
Your assignment today.
Rewrite yesterday's tweet taking vertical spacing into account:
"Hi, I'm [FILL IN] I tweet about [FILL IN] [EMOJI] #twitter4devs [INSERT IMAGE]"
