Day 5 - Interaction
What's better than someone who puts out great content on Twitter?
Someone who is willing to interact with their audience.
A person who shares and is open to responding is someone who people want to follow especially if they are interested in that content.
Today you are going to interact with others. But not on your tweets, on the tweets of others.
Remember that list of five folks that you look up to on Twitter? I want you to go find their recent tweets. (Hopefully, they are less than a day old.)
Find a tweet that you like and post a useful response.
What is a useful response? It can push for clarification with a question. It can add examples you have witnessed. You can mention hints. You can also praise the tweet.
What is a less effective response? Nitpicking the tweet. Correcting it. Technical folks have a tendency to "one-up" or prove they know more than someone else. If that is your intent, refrain from replying. Restrain your zeal.
Your intention in responding should be to add to the conversation. Build a relationship with the tweeter and ... the audience of the tweeter.
Finally, tweet something similar to this:
"If you want to tweet better, tweet for interaction #twitter4devs"
