Introduction
Introduction
This course is aimed at technical people who want to leverage Twitter to
- Interact with like-minded folk
- Explore ideas
- Announce new products
- Expand your network for potential job opportunities
Why "technical people"? I have a Computer Science degree and have worked as a developer, data scientist, entrepreneur, employee of venture backed startups, and content creator. I can speak from my experience and the network of those I know. If you don't fall into one of those buckets, this course might still be helpful, but you will have to cater it to your needs. Many of the assignments will be "technical" specific.
As a "technical person", should you care about Twitter? I like to think of it as "Developer Insurance". You might not be a developer per se, but imagine if your company had layoffs and cut your position? Now imagine you could enlist a stadium full of people to help in your search for your next gig?
How does the course work?
This course is an action-based course. What is the point in waxing long and poetic when I can get to the point and have you take action?
To be more specific, you will:
- Brainstorm ideas
- Create an intention for your tweets
- Update your profile
- Create a pinned tweet specific to you
- Take notes on tweets by others you like
- Respond to tweets of others
- Create tweets for others to respond to you
Who shouldn't take this course?
- If you just want to read a lot or watch videos to be "inspired".
- If you don't want to commit 30 days of taking small actions.
- If you don't want to tweet in public.
- If you don't want to interact with potentially large amounts of people.
- If you don't want to grow your network.
