Day 7 - Relax!

Today is a rest day. You should tweet consistently, but it isn't mandatory that you tweet every single day.

This week we explored your "homepage" on Twitter. Your picture, profile text, and pinned tweet. If you want to seal the deal and convince someone to click the "Follow" button, this is the content that seals the deal. It is the end of the equation. The start of the equation is a "good tweet". A tweet that inspires someone to click on your profile.

As this is a rest day, you don't have a real assignment today.

However, let's use this downtime to engage your brain. Your brain has a mechanism called incubation. You have probably experienced incubation before. It is the ability of your brain to inspire you when you take a break.

I have seen this when I've run into a tricky programming problem that I can't seem to solve. I've spent hours at my desk confused, randomly trying out different approaches, working desperately in an attempt to figure out my problem. It turns out to be fruitless. I'll go to bed (often later than I should've due to my flailing with the problem) only to wake up the next morning with the solution to the problem.

My brain kept chewing on the problem while I was asleep. This is incubation. You might have experienced it while taking a shower or going on a walk. Rather than focusing on your problem, seed the idea in your brain so it is grinding away at it, but don't actively work on it.

So your incubation assignment is to figure out "what makes a good tweet?"
