Day 8 - Good Tweets
We are going to explore what makes a good tweet. Hopefully, you thought of this over the past day.
Before we get into what makes a good tweet, I want to talk about virality.
I've spent a lot of time thinking about tweets, exploring them, and analyzing my stats on them. (In fact, I created a course that shows how to use advanced analytic techniques to explore your tweets. You can check it out here).
It is easy for me to determine what is a bad tweet. A tweet that won't get much attention. A tweet that isn't interesting to my audience. A tweet that I post without intention.
On the other hand, I cannot predict what tweet will go viral. (Not completely true, I do have some "trick" tweets that I will show later).
Why do I say this? Because you can't predict what tweets will go viral, you need to be consistently tweeting "good" tweets to increase the "luck surface area" of your tweets.
Your assignment for today is to tweet two tweets:
- A tweet stating what makes up a good tweet. Something like this: "My stream will feature tweets about Python [REPLACE WITH YOUR SUBJECT] that are [COMPONENTS OF GOOD TWEETS] #twitter4devs"
- A response to my tweet asking what makes a good tweet. You can find it here
Remember to take note in your course notes about your insights on good tweets.
